DPR Salary Structure: What Happened to DPR (Now NUPRC and NMDPRA)
The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) no longer exists. The Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021 replaced it with two regulators:

- Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC): regulates the upstream sector (exploration and production). Website: nuprc.gov.ng.
- Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA): regulates the midstream and downstream sector, including product quality, pricing, consumer protection, environmental compliance and market competition. According to NUPRC, NMDPRA brought together the Petroleum Equalisation Fund (PEF), the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) and part of the defunct DPR. Website: nmdpra.gov.ng.
If you are searching for a “DPR salary structure”, there is no current DPR pay scale, because there is no longer a DPR. Former DPR staff moved to the two new regulators.
Is there an official NUPRC or NMDPRA salary structure?
Neither NUPRC nor NMDPRA publishes a salary scale on its official website (checked October 2026). Figures that circulate online for “DPR salary” are not from an official source, so we do not repeat them here.
