The ASU White Mountain Alumni Chapter Founders’ Scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors who are Arizona Residents and reside within the geographic area of the Arizona White Mountains. One (1) Scholarship will be awarded at $2,000, nonrenewable.

The White Mountain Chapter Founders’ Scholarship was established in honor of Ted and Barb Cesarano. Ted and Barb Cesarano revitalized the White Mountain Alumni Chapter in 2008. In recognition of their efforts, the White Mountain Alumni Chapter would like to thank them and all the early members for making the chapter what is it today. The White Mountain Chapter Founders Scholarship recognizes their efforts in providing support to students in the White Mountains to attend Arizona State University.

Additional criteria:

To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must:
1. Be a graduating Senior, who is an Arizona resident
2. Have a minimum 3.50 GPA (non-weighted)
3. Reside within the geographic area of Arizona White Mountains (Heber/Overgaard, Pinetop-Lakeside, Snowflake/Taylor, St. Johns, Springerville, Show Low, Whiteriver)
4. Achieve a minimum ACT score of 24 combined and/or SAT score of 1100 combined
5. Be admitted to Arizona State for the fall 2020 semester
6. Not participate in Intercollegiate Athletics as an ASU student-athlete while attending ASU
7. Awards may not be deferred for illness or religious reasons. The posting of award funds each semester will be conditional based on the receipt of current semester transcripts by post or e-mail to the scholarship committee.
8. All scholarship recipients are required to attend the annual White Mountain Steak Fry in Pinetop on June 6, 2021, and participate in the two-day event in some capacity.

Started in 1999 by Jim and Jo-Ann Armstrong, the Armstrong Family Foundation Scholarship Program is designed to help deserving students with family circumstances beyond their control that limit financial resources and prevent access to educational opportunities.

The scholarship offers up to $8,000 a year. The scholarship may be renewed annually if the student continues to meet the criteria, including participation in program events, and show progress toward a degree.

But even more importantly, the scholarship offers a strong support network and personal involvement from the Armstrong family. The Armstrongs meet regularly with recipients to make sure they are working through obstacles and reaching their goals. The program also features monthly activities and events to enhance personal and professional development.

This scholarship is administered and awarded by the ASU Foundation.

•Be admitted to ASU by the application deadline and be seeking a degree full time
•Have and maintain a 3.0 or higher cumulative academic GPA, non-weighted
•This scholarship requires eligible applicants to demonstrate financial need. In order to determine your eligibility, you must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the scholarship deadline. You may complete the FAFSA at the following link: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.
