The Directors’ Scholarship

Now to The Scholarship
Director’s Scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen who exhibit magnificent academic performance at the high school level.
The Directors’ Scholarship is one of the distinguished merit scholarships awarded by the University of California, Irvine. UCI prepares students to become global leaders. As a Directors’ Scholar at UCI, the candidate will have the opportunity to participate in many outstanding programs designed to enhance her educational experience. Additional Directors’ Scholar benefits include a monetary honorarium, on-campus housing guarantee, priority enrollment, and library privileges, among many others.
Benefits
The scholarship is currently unknown but the final amount is subject to federal and state financial aid regulations. Scholars who are able to maintain the stated academic requirements might be able to renew the award each year of their appointment. Entering freshmen and transfers may renew the scholarship for one additional year.
Here are some additional benefits
- Directors’ Scholars are guaranteed an offer of on-campus housing for four years for freshmen and two years for entering transfer students, contingent upon meeting housing deadlines and housing qualifications. Directors’ Scholars must have lived on-campus during their first year of appointment to access their housing guarantee. - Directors’ Scholars will receive priority registration for course enrollment each academic quarter.
- Directors’ Scholars choosing to participate in the University of California Education Abroad Program may use their scholarship to help fund the cost of overseas study.
- Directors’ Scholars who participate in the UC Irvine Washington DC Academic Internship Program may use their scholarship to help fund the cost of the program.
To be Eligible
- The Directors’ Scholarship is awarded based on the information gathered on the UC Application for Admission and Scholarships.
- To be eligible for the Directors’ Scholarship you must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or an international student with an F1 visa. Only students who fall under these categories are eligible for the Directors’ Scholarship.
- Applicants for Winter or Spring quarter are not eligible.
How to Apply
Applicants for the Directors’ Scholarship must apply for Fall admission on or before November 30 to be considered for the scholarship.
- No additional materials are required nor considered in the selection process. The selection committee conducts a comprehensive review of the applicant pool to determine the student’s strength and breadth of academic preparation. Selection is based on a comprehensive review of the admissions application, including, but not limited to, test scores and grades.
