QUT 2022 Brown Group Biomedical Engineering and Materials Scholarships

About The Brown Group

The Brown Group combines advanced experimental and computational techniques to provide new insights into the structure-function relationships in biomedical materials. While focusing on musculoskeletal tissues and related biomaterials, the group maintains an active interest in other high-performance biological materials including spider silk and ivory.

The Brown Group is also involved in a number of translational activities, including the development of new optics-based diagnostic devices, scalable nanostructured surfaces and 3D constructs for regenerative medicine, new devices and approaches for surgery, and automated analysis/interpretation techniques for medical imaging.

About QUT

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is a major Australian university with a truly global outlook. The school is an ambitious and collaborative institution that seeks to empower students and graduates with the skills they’ll need in an increasingly disrupted and challenging world. QUT is currently transforming research, education, and innovation in science, technology, engineering, and even maths. As well as help create the innovators and the entrepreneurs of the future who can identify, act on, and realize opportunities to create value for themselves and others.

Moving on to the scholarship

The Brown Group biomedical engineering and materials scholarships are giving out an opportunity for up to four Ph.D. scholarships in biomedical engineering and materials. Here is a chance to join the high-performance Brown Group, formerly aligned with Oxford University but now moving to QUT. As said above, this opportunity is only open to those interested in the Ph.D. program.

Students will get the opportunity able to develop in-depth knowledge, understanding, and expertise in their chosen field of research. Technical development will be coupled with extensive professional development towards an academic or research and development career. Students will also benefit from access to flexible and bespoke experimental facilities, high-level scientific expertise, access to a range of local and international collaborators, and world-class facilities including QUT’s Medical Engineering Research Facility (MERF).
