The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP)
In order to contribute to the World bank mission of formulating new active ways to capacity development and knowledge sharing among developing countries, the World Bank’s Development Economics Vice Presidency (DEC) provides scholarships to young talented students and researchers.
It is an important strategy by the World Bank to improve economic development by investing in education, capacity building, and developing human resources in developing countries.
So far from 1982, the DEC program has produced over 6000 certified scholars and professionals who are actively transforming their countries positively and impacting future generations.
The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) is limited to about 86 developing countries around the world of which most are African. This opp ortunity is opened to exceptional students with relevant professionals experience, leadership skills, and evidence or history of supporting their home country’s development for those who are applying to a master’s degree program in a development-related topic.
The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) provides tuition all through the program, monthly living stipend, round-trip airfare, health insurance, and travel allowance for any selected candidate.
With the purpose of contributing to their home country’s economic and social development, The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) offers scholarships for 48 Participating Programs at universities in U.S., Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Japan in major sectors relating to the development, which includes economic policy management, tax policy, and infrastructure management.
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Cambodia, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Dem. Rep., Congo, Rep., Cote d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Dominica, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Iraq, Kenya, Kiribati, Kosovo, Kyrgyz Republic, Lao PDR, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Maldives, Mali, Marshall Islands, Mauritania, Micronesia, Fed.
