The Spirit Scholarship
Award:
The Spirit Scholarship was established by lifetime Girl Scout and highest award recipient, Connie Ehrlich Davis, in memory of her parents, Maxine and O. J. Ehrlich. During her youth in Wichita, KS, Connie’s parents were tireless supporters of her participation in Girl Scouts, recognizing the experience would help her develop confidence and leadership skills. Since the Ehrlich’s did not have the opportunity to attend school past 8th grade, they also believed in the importance of further education. They were committed to ensuring Connie had every opportunity to benefit from scouting and an education, both of which served her well throughout her career. It is in the “spirit” of their wisdom that this scholarship will be awarded to girls who demonstrate academic excellence and uphold the highest ideals of Girl Scouting.

Additional Resources
We’ve compiled a list of universities/colleges, foundations, and Girl Scout councils that offer scholarships, awards, and grants for Girl Scouts.
Though the list is updated periodically, be sure to check with your local Girl Scout council for the most recent information for your area. Your council may also offer helpful workshops or other resources to prepare for college.
Remember, earning a Girl Scout Gold Award is an excellent way to give any college or scholarship application that “something extra” to help you stand out from the crowd.
For additional information on college scholarships, contact your high school guidance counselor, reach out to the financial aid office of the school(s) you wish to attend, and check out these websites:
