Israel places a great value on its residents’ education. There are 14 private institutions and 52 public universities in total. There are more than 290,600 international students in 2014.

Currently, the higher institution is home to around 45% of its population. Israel received the distinction of being the world’s most literate nation in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

According to a report by the Education department of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, education receives around 78% of the nation’s budget.
