Haiti has a low rate of higher education. Their literacy rate is likewise very low, especially when compared to that of the nations of Latin America and the Caribbean.
51 percent of women and 55 percent of men are involved. The nation is lacking, among other things, qualified professors and instructional materials. Four regional public universities, six private universities, three colleges, and one monotechnic offer tertiary education.
