JAMB Syllabus for All Subjects: Where to Find the Official IBASS Syllabus and How to Use It

Checked on JAMB’s website on 6 November 2026. JAMB publishes the official UTME syllabus for every subject on its Integrated Brochure & Syllabus System (IBASS). It is free to read online. This page tells you where to find it and how to use it; we do not copy the syllabus, because JAMB’s own version is the one your exam is set from.

Where to find the official JAMB syllabus

  • Read online: IBASS E-syllabus. Find your subject in the list (or use Search Subjects) and click View details.
  • PDF version: the IBASS PDF Syllabus page.
  • Subject combinations for your course: JAMB’s IBASS Brochure lists the UTME subjects each university requires for each course.

The IBASS subject list includes Agricultural Science, Arabic, Art, Biology, Chemistry, Christian Religious Studies, Commerce, Computer Studies, Economics, French, Geography and Government, among others; the full list is on the E-syllabus page.

Is the 2026/2027 (UTME 2027) syllabus out?

The IBASS syllabus pages do not carry a session or year label. JAMB’s IBASS is where the Board publishes the syllabus, so treat the IBASS version as current and check it again before you start revising and close to your exam. Be careful with copies labelled “JAMB Syllabus 2027” on other websites, social media posts and videos: they are not JAMB, and some are old versions with a new year added.

How to use the JAMB syllabus to study

  1. Confirm your four subjects. Use the IBASS Brochure to check the subject combination for your course and university before you buy any textbook.
  2. Turn each topic into a checklist. Open your subject on the E-syllabus and list every topic and objective. Tick topics off only when you can answer questions on them.
  3. Use the objectives, not just the topic names. The syllabus sets out what candidates should be able to do for each topic; study to that level.
  4. Match your textbooks to the syllabus. Read the chapters that cover syllabus topics first. Skip material the syllabus does not list until you have covered what it does.
  5. Practise with past questions, checked against the syllabus. Use them to test topics on your checklist, and drop any question on a topic the current syllabus no longer includes.
  6. Revisit IBASS before the exam in case JAMB updates the syllabus.

Avoid fake “JAMB syllabus” downloads

You do not need to pay for the JAMB syllabus or download an app to get it. The official versions are on ibass.jamb.gov.ng, a jamb.gov.ng address. Do not enter your JAMB profile code, email password or bank details on any site offering a “syllabus download”.
