Adlerbert Study Scholarships 2022 | Chalmers University of Technology

The Adlerbert Study Scholarship will be awarded to five scholars in 2022 to students who are citizens of one of 143 countries. The scholarship comprises a full tuition fee waiver and is funded by the Adlerbert Foundation. The scholarship opportunity is open to all Masters’s programs studied at the University. The selection is based on the applicants’ relative academic excellence, which primarily includes weighted average grade but also the home University’s stature (including a position on global ranking lists) and priority order of the application for Chalmers Master’s Programmes.

How to Apply

Begin by applying for a Master’s program

Scholarship applications will be processed when the corresponding online application for Master’s programs at universityadmissions.se has been completed, including having submitted all the required documentation verifying your eligibility and having paid the application fee. Only applicants fulfilling the eligibility requirements for the Master’s programs applied for will finally be considered for a scholarship.

Here is a list of how to apply for a Master’s program

• The instructions below are general and apply to all applicants. That is applicants with international as well as Swedish Bachelor’s degrees, and applicants with a Swedish personal identity number and/or Swedish citizenship included.
• Find the Chalmers Master’s program of your interest
• Make sure that you read through the general and specific entry requirements for the program before applying. Use the list of required documents as a checklist and be sure to prepare your documentation well in advance of the deadline.
• Submit your online application at universityadmissions.se (in English) or antagning.se (in Swedish). You can apply for a maximum of four programs (at Chalmers or from several universities).
• Complete your application by submitting the supporting documentation to your account.
• Always check the List of required documents for all applicants to Chalmers
• Further instructions regarding country-specific requirements are available at universityadmissions.se
• Pay the application fee, if this applies to you.
• If you are one of the fee-paying applicants, you may separately apply for the scholarships administrated by Chalmers.
• Chalmers Admissions will not pre-assess any supporting documentation or make any predictions of the chances of getting an admission.
• Kindly do not send any documents directly to Chalmers Admissions. Weblinks or e-mail attachments cannot be considered via emails.

Any document that is relevant to the application must be uploaded to your personal account at universityadmissions.se/antagning.se on time.

A complete application will be assessed on both national and local levels; by the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR) and Chalmers Admissions.
• Chalmers has a high number of applications and you must make sure that you have checked and completed your application according to the list of required documents. Missing documents cannot be submitted after the stipulated deadline.
• Once you have submitted a complete application and the application fee is paid on time (if applicable), the status of your application may show, and change between unqualified/qualified/in progress up until you receive the official Notification of Selection Results

Then rank your programs; The ranking of the Master’s programs that you applied for is crucial for the assessment of your scholarship application. To maximize your chances of being offered a scholarship from Chalmers you should select a Master’s program at Chalmers as your number one (1) priority. In the application, it is possible to add a total of four (4) choices. The Master’s program you prefer should be added as your number one (1) alternative.

• After selecting courses and programs that interest you, the next step is to prioritize them. This is important when selection time arrives. We recommend you have your programs ranked just as you’d like them before the application deadline.
• Ranking your selections is really important!
• When the time comes to award places:
• You’ll first be considered for the program you’ve ranked the highest
• If you meet the entry requirements and there’s a place available, you’ll be offered one
• All the programs you ranked lower will then be deleted
• If you aren’t offered a place in the first program on your list, your second choice will be evaluated, and so on.
• You have until the application deadline to change your ranking order.
• You can select up to four master’s programs.
• After the application deadline, you can’t change the ranking order of the courses and programs you’ve already applied to.
• But you can delete courses and programs and add them back to your application with a different rank. And you can also add courses and programs and place them anywhere in the ranking order.
• Note that these rank-changed and added courses and programs will be considered late applications. They’ll only be considered by the university if there are still places available after admissions selection.
• Before making any changes to your application, make sure that the course/program you wish to delete and add back has the status “Open for late application” in the course search. We suggest you consider carefully before deleting and re-ranking courses and programs.

Requirements for the scholarships

• All scholarships administered by Chalmers are awarded based on the relative merit value attained by the eligible scholarship applicants. The purposes of the scholarship programs, as outlined above, are naturally also taken into consideration when the scholarships are awarded.
• Scholarship awardees must pass at least 75 % (conventionally 45 credits) of their courses during the first academic year in order to retain the scholarship the following academic year.
• Only course results definitively registered in LADOK on 1 July, at the end of the first academic year, will be considered in this assessment. Students who lose their scholarship will be notified via a decision sent out in conjunction with the dispatch of the tuition fee invoice for the third semester.
• Scholarships will be awarded in the form of a reduction of the tuition fee
• An offer of a scholarship is only valid for the academic year and program stipulated in the Scholarship Award Decision made by the Vice President for Undergraduate and Master’s Education. The Scholarship Awardee is notified of this decision in the Scholarship Award Notification. If the student is granted deferment until the next academic year, the offer of a scholarship is voided.
• If a Scholarship Awardee transfers to another program, the Scholarship Award Decision will be reassessed.
• The offer of a scholarship comprises a tuition fee reduction for a maximum of 120 credits (hp) on the Master’s Programme stipulated in the Scholarship Award Notification. When the scholarship awardee fulfills the degree requirements for their Master’s Programme he/she is not entitled to utilize the scholarship for additional courses
• For scholarship Awardees who have conducted exchange studies at Chalmers and who are able to utilize the credits from the said exchange in their Master’s Programme, the scholarship entails a reduction of the tuition fee for the remaining credits needed to fulfill the degree requirements
• If a scholarship only covers part of the tuition fee, the student must pay the remainder of the fee by the payment deadline.
• Scholarship Awardees are entitled to retain their scholarship if they have applied for and been permitted to take a temporary leave from their studies. The Scholarship Awardee will however forfeit the scholarship if the academic leave of absence exceeds one year.
• The scholarship application deadline conventionally coincides with the application deadline for Master’s Programmes. Applicants must apply for scholarships on time in order to be considered for a scholarship.
• Applicants who are awarded a scholarship, but who are not granted a Visa from the Migration Board will lose their offer of a scholarship
• Applicants who are awarded a scholarship other than Avancez, Adlerbert Study Scholarships, IPOET and Chalmers MasterCard are not automatically entitled to retain their scholarship during the exchange- or a temporary leave from their studies, as such decisions are made on a case-by-case basis, in consultation with the external donor.
• Scholarship Awardees who change their tuition fee status to fee exempt will forfeit the tuition fee reduction/waiver part of the scholarship. Meanwhile, the scholarship awardee will retain any other benefits included in his/her scholarship (e.g. internship, summer job, etc.), if applicable
• Scholarship application ( is currently closed for 2022)
• We encourage you to apply for scholarships as soon as possible since this will greatly expedite the assessment process. However, there is no correlation between how early you submit the application and the likelihood of receiving a scholarship.
• Note, prior to your scholarship application you must first make an online application to at least one of the Master’s programs offered by Chalmers, at the website universityadmissions.se (see sections 1-3 above). You will be assigned an 8-digit application number (at universityadmissions.se) and this number is required in order to complete the scholarship application.
