Iowa State University is aimed at attracting a diversely skilled student body. Therefore, a limited number of merit scholarships will be awarded to international freshers.
Scholarships are awarded based on a comprehensive examination of SAT or ACT results as well as high school grades and marks. To be considered for the scholarship, students must complete the OneApp scholarship application.
This scholarship is for incoming international freshmen applicants who have been accepted but will not be getting financial support from their home country’s government.

Complete both the general OneApp application and the application for the International Student Admissions Scholarship.
International Merit Scholarship (Spring and Fall) Amount
Award of Achievement Up to $40,000 ($5,000/yr–$10,000/yr)
Award of Distinction Up to $16,000 ($2,000/yr–$4,000/yr)
*Freshman grantees will be supported for up to eight semesters or until they complete their degree, whichever comes first.

To keep the scholarship, you must meet the following requirements throughout your time at Iowa State:
While at Iowa State, a cumulative Grade Po int Average (GPA) of 2.5 is required.
Each semester, you must enroll in a minimum of 12-semester credits (summers not included).
This prize is just for students who are charged non-resident tuition.
Only undergraduate tuition and fees are eligible for the grant.
