Facts about Tangale Ethnic Group

The Tangale people are said to have moved from the Middle East in the 13th century. This person lived in the Bornu-Kanem Empire before relocating to their current site.

Tangale (Tangle) is a West Chadic language that is spoken in Nigeria’s northern area. The vast majority of native speakers may be found in the Gombe State Local Government Areas of Akko, Billiri, Kaltungo, and Shongom.

The Tangale people are mostly Muslim, and their main vocations are trading and farming. Babban riga is worn by the men, and wrappers are tied on the shirt by the women.
