Honduras is a small Central American country known for its mineral wealth, coffee production, and tropical crops. There is only one public university in this country with a literacy rate of around 90%. The number of private universities, on the other hand, is in the double digits.
In terms of tuition, most Honduran colleges are quite inexpensive when compared to international norms. However, if you want to continue your study in this country, you must be fluent in Spanish. With Spanish being the official language, there are few universities that offer English-language studies.

The Panamerican Agricultural University, or just Zamorano, is a private university in the Yeguare Valley, some 20 miles from Tegucigalpa, Honduras’ capital. It had only 140 students when it began its journey in 1942. However, there are now over 1,200 students registered here, with 95 academic staff members teaching them.
The campus, which covers 10,113 acres of land, is home to more than 20 nationalities. This university has graduated over 8,000 students from 29 different nations.

The Universidad Metropolitana de Honduras (UMH) is a private, non-profit institution founded in 2002. The university’s main campus is around 3.5 miles from downtown Tegucigalpa.
San Pedro Sula, Choluteca, Gracias, Tocoa, and Juticalpa are among the locations where it maintains satellite campuses. The university has a student body of over 3,000 students.
International students pay $1,000 per year intuition.

The Universidad Catolica de Honduras (UNICAH) is a private Catholic institution with 11 campuses spread across Honduras. The remaining eight campuses are located in La Ceiba, Juticalpa, Siguatepeque, Olanchito, San Pedro Sula, Danli, Choluteca, and Santa Rosa de Copan.
Since its founding in 1993, the non-profit institution has graduated more than 22,500 students. The overall enrolment at this Honduran low-cost university is currently over 19,000, with over 1,000 academic staff members.

Universidad Tecnológica de Honduras (UTH) was founded in 1986 under the name Instituto Superior Tecnológico, with its main campus in San Pedro Sula. In addition to La Ceiba, Tegucigalpa, El Progreso, Puerto Cortes, Santa Barbara, Choloma, Choluteca, Siguatepeque, and Bay Islands, it has nine other campuses. This private university, too, has a student body of over 19,000 students and a faculty of over 700 professors.
