PTDF SCHOLARSHIP 2023
The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) is the federal government agency responsible for developing local human capacity and oil technology to meet the needs of the oil and gas industry by providing PTDF SCHOLARSHIP 2023.
Currently, PTDF invites applications from well-qualified candidates for Masters and Doctorate Scholarships abroad in institutions of the United Kingdom-Germany Strategic Partnership Initiative.

To ensure a steadfast implementation of this mandate, PTDF is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for Overseas and in-country MSc and Ph.D. Scholarships. Awards will be granted for studies in the 2022 academic session in the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, France (through Campus France), Top Institutions in the United States of America as well as Federal Universities and Centres of Excellence in Nigeria.

PTDF SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORMS
PTDF Scholarship Application forms can be accessed online HERE using an ATM (Interswitch, Master & Visa) card or through the purchase of a scratch card from designated main branches of First Bank of Nigeria Plc in all the 36 States and FCT, upon payment of a NON-REFUNDABLE sum of N1,000 (One Thousand Naira Only).

Applicants may please note that only those who meet the requirements below shall be shortlisted and invited for a Computer-Based Aptitude Test, in the case of MSc applicants, while oral interviews will be conducted for Ph.D. applicants (full-time and Split-site) on dates to be announced later.
PTDF Oversea scholarship 2023 application
PTDF scholarships are highly competitive and only candidates who are outstanding across the board are selected. The 2023 PTDF scholarship received 19,232 applications. A selection committee will be constituted to assess applications using the following criteria;
Academic merit as evidenced by the quality of degrees, full academic transcripts, other professional qualifications acquired, and relevant publications to be referenced by the applicant (Ph.D. applicants only)
Membership in professional bodies
The viability of the study/research plan.
Applicants are required to make a case for their scholarship by submitting a statement of purpose (maximum 500 words) stating the reason(s) they want to undertake the study, the relevance of the proposed study to the industry, and its expected impact on national development.
Applicants for OSS must be in possession of the following:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)(USA)
- G.R.E (Graduate Record Examination) (USA)
- GMAT –for Management related courses (USA)

The Scheme
Under this scheme, candidates are invited to apply through PTDF to specific programs at the partner institutions in any of the countries (a full list of sponsored courses is available below).
The award includes the provision of flight tickets, payment of health insurance, payment of tuition and bench fees (where applicable) as well as the provision of allowances to meet the costs of accommodation and living expenses.
The programs will also include language classes to aid scholars to settle into their new environments.
Eligibility for PTDF Local Scholarships 2023

- Academic merit as evidenced by the quality of degrees, full academic transcripts, other professional qualifications acquired, and relevant publications (where available) to be referenced by applicants
- Awards for leadership and/or academic excellence (where available).
- Membership in professional bodies
- The viability of the study/research plan.
- Applicants are required to make a case for their scholarship by submitting a statement of purpose (maximum 500 words) stating the reason(s) they want to undertake the study, the relevance of the proposed study to the oil & gas industry, and its expected impact on national development.
PTDF Postgraduate Scholarships Requirements
A minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) in an Oil and Gas related field OR a 2.2 with oil and gas industry experience;
National Youth Service (NYSC) certificate;
Applicants must be computer literate;
Possession of O/level with Credit in the English Language; (At least C6 in WAEC/SSCE or C4 and above in NECO); and
Applicants must not be above 30 years of age.

PTDF Ph.D. Scholarships in 2023
- A minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) in an Oil and Gas related field OR a 2.2 with oil and gas industry experience;
- National Youth Service (NYSC) certificate;
- Applicants must be computer literate;
- Possession of O/level with Credit in the English Language; (At least C6 in WAEC/SSCE or C4 and above in NECO); and
- Employment in the academics in reputable Nigerian institutions, teaching oil and gas-related disciplines;
- A minimum of 2.2 in their first degree and a minimum of merit as a second-degree certificate in an oil and gas-related discipline;
- Submit a research proposal relevant to the oil and gas industry (of not more than 5 pages) to include: Topic, introduction, objective,
- methodology relevance to the industry and mode of data collection;
- Possess a valid admission letter; and
- Must not be over 40 years of age

Please Note That
1) Candidates who have benefitted from any of the PTDF scholarships in the past cannot apply for the same type of program, except for a higher program;
2) Candidates who successfully scale through the first round of screening will be requested to submit their transcripts; all applicants are therefore advised to prepare their transcripts for submission in anticipation of such a request.
