Mauritius Africa Scholarship 2026 (Fully Funded for African Students)

This government-funded scholarship allows students from African Union and Commonwealth countries to study at public universities in Mauritius completely free.

What is the Mauritius Africa Scholarship?

The Government of the Republic of Mauritius offers this scholarship annually to deserving students from African countries. It supports undergraduate, Master’s (MPhil), and PhD studies at public higher education institutions in Mauritius.

The scholarship aims to strengthen educational cooperation between Mauritius and the African continent.

Eligibility Requirements

For Undergraduate:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Not have reached 26 years by January 1, 2027
  • Be a citizen of an African Union or African Commonwealth country

For Postgraduate (MPhil/PhD):

  • Not have reached 40 years by January 1, 2027
  • Hold relevant undergraduate or master’s degree

General Requirements:

  • Must have already applied for admission at a Mauritius public university
  • Must apply through your country’s nominating agency (usually Ministry of Education)

All African Union and African Commonwealth member countries including:

Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Egypt, Morocco, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Cameroon, and many more.

How to Apply

Step 1: Apply for admission at a Mauritius public university first

Step 2: Contact your country’s Nominating Agency (usually the Ministry of Education)

Step 3: Complete the scholarship application form

Step 4: Submit through your Nominating Agency (not directly)

Important: Each country can nominate up to 15 candidates.
