Jamaica has one of the best high school systems in the world, and it is mostly based on the British educational system. The official language of instruction and association is English.
There are 24 private universities, 28 public universities, an uncountable number of colleges, community colleges, teacher preparation schools, polytechnics, and other educational establishments.
Approximately 88 percent of the total population can read and write, which is a relatively high literacy rate. Additionally, there are more than 17,000 foreign students, and after they graduate, they can apply f or thousands of positions in connected industries or government ministries.
