Hadizah Salma Blell popularly known by her professional stage name “Di’ja” is a Sierra Leonean Nigerian singer, songwriter, fashion designer, visual artist, and humanitarian. She was born on the 14th of August, 1989 in Kaduna state, Nigeria to a Sierra Leon Father and a Nigerian Mother.
Joe Blell, her father, was the former deputy to the defense minister of Sierra Leon and her mother is from the northern part of Nigeria, Kaduna state. Canada and USA was her country of residence initially before she moved back to Nigeria. She is a multi-linguistic talented music artist.
According to the artist, she developed a passion for music when she was a child and was encouraged by her parent. She then started her career officially she won Best New Artist at The Beat Music Awards in 2008 in Canada which launched her as a musician.
In 2009, she released her first single in Canada and it was a plus to her musical status as she got an award for it. She also released several hit songs in Canada before she moved to Nigeria and signed with Marvin Record Label in 2014. She successfully released three singles and featured in two songs by Marvin that year. Due to her humanitarian service during the pandemic, she was appointed UN Women Goodwill Ambassador.
