The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) was founded on February 1st, 1983, and is a specialized University of Technology in Nigeria. Its formation is intended to further the nation’s push for much-needed technological, engineering, and scientific independence.

 

The Main (Gidan Kwano) and Mini (Bosso) Campuses are its two campuses. The old Government Teachers’ College Bosso’s facilities were first taken over by the university and put to permanent use. The university’s Bosso Campus is presently located here.

FUT MINNA specializes in technological education. Offering Bachelor’s of Technology, Master’s of Technology in various technology inclined fields. The university is a designated Centre of Excellence in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering and has a core competence in the development of vaccines and drugs, also small arms design in partnership with the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
