Aituaje Iruobe is a Nigerian singer known professionally as “Waje”. She was born on the 1st of September, 1980 in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria but raised in Benin, Edo state following her parent’s relocation. She is the firstborn child and the first female to be born in her family.
She started her education journey as she enrolled in the Word of Faith Group of Schools, Benin City, Edo State. She got a full scholarship through her secondary school education from Archbishop Benson Idahosa and this was so because Archbishop Benson Idahosa heard her sing the gospel tunes and was pleased with it and then decided to fund her secondary school education.
Waje then after completing her secondary school education enrolled in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social work. While in school she participated in several social activities, school concerts, and fellowships.
She got noticed in the Nigerian music scene after being featured in the remix of Psquare song “Omoge mi”, she was also seen on the duo’s 2008 hit track “Do me”. It was also reported that she contributed to the vocals in one of Banky W’s and M.I respectively.
In January 2019, she partnered with Omawumi and founded a Media company named “Hermanes Media” – a company that specializes in films and TV production, Adverts, Content curator, brand event activation, and creative digital marketing.
Waje had been nominated for several awards and had also won several awards. She is considered one of the most respectable music artists in Nigeria. Waje’s net worth for the year 2023 is currently estimated to be 1.7 million dollars.
