The University of Uyo in other words known as UNIUYO is located in Uyo, capital of Akwa Ibom State Nigeria. It was known as the University of the cross-river (Uniross) but finally changed to UNIUYO on October 1, 1991, by the federal government.

The vision of this University is to be a center of academic excellence by utilizing the available human and technological resources.
