Tiwatope Savage popularly known as “Tiwa Savage”, is a Nigerian female music artist, songwriter, and actress. She was born on the 5th of February 1980 in Isale Eko, Lagos state. At a young generation 11, she relocated to London to pursue her secondary education. Five years after relocating she started her music career doing backup vocals for artists such as George Michael and Mary J. Blige.
In 2012, Tiwa Savage moved back to Nigeria after completing her education at Berkeley College of Music. She was inspired and encouraged by the growth of the music industry in Nigeria and she ended up signing a contract with Marvin record label which was founded by Don Jazzy. She also made an appearance in the label’s compilation album ” Solar Plexus” which was released that same year, 2012.
She is regarded as one of the most hardworking female music artists as she has gotten about 20 awards and more nominations throughout the years in the music industry in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.
