Now, let us go into details on how to gain admission into any of the aforementioned schools of nursing in the Abuja metropolis, this includes requirements and mode of application, exams, and screening, and types of certificates being awarded upon completion of the program.

Nursing is a noble and one of the most important profession anyone can think of, they can prescribe drugs, examine patients and diagnose ailments in the absence of a doctor or physician. So nurses are central to humans.
Now, back to full details on how to get admission into schools of Nursing in FCT, Abuja. The process of admission is very similar, except for the post-basic nursing and national open university (NOUN). The duration of the course is institution-dependent, but it’s generally 3 to 5 years.
Nursing schools do not require candidates’ participation in JAMB, except if you’re applying to National Open University (NOUN).
The certificate awarded is Registered Nurse (RN), while graduates of universities are awarded also Registered midwifery (RM) and Bachelor degree (B.N.sc).
This is one of the best nursing schools, some of the available programs include Perioperative nursing, Cardiothoracic nursing, Ophthalmic nursing, and Anesthetic nursing.
Admission requirements
All prospective candidates should have obtained WAEC, NECO, or GCE with at least 5 credits in not more than 2 sittings, NABTEB is not acceptable. The compulsory subjects are English language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Note: The results should be less than 10 years and the minimum age for consideration is 17 years old, and pregnant women are not eligible for admission.

NOUN has been accredited by the National University Council (NUC) for nursing programs and their requirements are a bit different from the rest because candidates are mandated to participate in the joint admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
iii. Admission is into the 100 level as a new intake

Upon completion of the 5years program at NOUN, Abuja, you will be awarded a Bachelor of Nursing Science Degree (B.N.sc), and the obtained registration are Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Midwife (RM), Registered Public Health Nurse (RPHN) and Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN).
The duration of study is 5 years and one year of compulsory internship in any registered healthcare institution.

School of Post Basic (SOPB) Nephrology Nursing, National Hospital, Abuja.

The duration of the study is 12 months.

Is one of the best nursing schools in Abuja, the school fees ranges from #153,000 in the first year to #25,000 in the second and third year, and it has well-furnished accommodation for its students. Requirements are the same as those above.
