Cheapest Universities in Zimbabwe with Tuition Fees

Zimbabwe is an African country located southward of the continent and has its capital at Harare. It has interesting land features and wildlife reserves. It was ruled by Robert Mugabe for years since independence until 2017 when he resigned following national grievances and protests.  The economy relies on mining, gold, agriculture, tourism, etc.

 

  1. Harare Institute Technology

Year of establishment – 1988

Location – Harare

Average Tuition Fees – $695

This is a government-owned university, initially known as the national vocational training center, it’s a technological institution with some programs in automotive, and engineering. It is renowned for being one of the best science and technology institutes in the country.

 

  1. Midlands State University

Year of establishment – 2000

Location – Gwenu

Average Tuition Fees – $790

This is also a government-owned university in the region of midlands, and also one of the best in the country. Some of the available courses are arts, medicine, law, etc.

 

  1. Catholic University of Zimbabwe

Year of establishment – 1999

Location – Harare

Average Tuition Fees – $1200

This is a privately owned university, established by the Christian catholic church so it’s affiliated with the church though not faith-based. There are 6 undergraduate and postgraduate programs including accounting, social science, theology, business, management, etc.

 

  1. Zimbabwe Open University

Year of establishment – 1999

Location – Harare

Average Tuition Fees – $1600

This is a government-owned university, the first of its kind in Zimbabwe with online and distance learning services. It was initially attached as a campus to the university of Zimbabwe but transformed over time into an autonomous university. Some of the available courses are agriculture, Arts, education, etc.

 

  1. Solusi University

Year of establishment – 1894

Location – Bulawayo

Average Tuition Fees – $1609

This is a privately owned university, coeducational learning center established by the Seventh-day Adventist church but later rebranded after Chief Solusi where the mission was located during its foundation in Zimbabwe. Some of the available courses are Business, education, technology, etc.
