APIN Public Health Initiatives is a non-governmental donor-funded organization dedicated to the prevention, treatment, care, and support of diseases of public health importance in Nigeria, including HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria, among others.

APIN works in partnership with the Federal and State Governments of Nigeria, the United States Center for Disease Control (CDC), as well as the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria in Nigeria.

APIN Recruitment 2023 seeking qualified and suitable candidates to assume some vacant positions:

1 Technical Officer –
Clinical Services

The job holder will work with the Associate Director of Clinical Services to maintain a high level of expertise and innovation in the delivery of pediatric and adult antiretroviral therapy (ART) services.

S/He will provide support in the implementation of TB/HIV activities to address TB disease among PLHIV.

Qualifications and Experience:
 Must possess a medical degree (MBBS, MB ChB) from a recognized institution.
 Possession of a Master’s Degree in Public Health or a related field would be added advantage.
 Must be a registered medical practitioner with a current practice license from the Medical
and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
 Must have a minimum of six (6) years post-qualification experience and a minimum of three (3)
relevant years of experience in supervising and coordinating the provision of ART services.

2 Technical Associate –
Clinical Services

The job holder will work with the Technical Lead in the State to provide technical and programmatic support to sites in delivering and monitoring high-quality HIV/AIDS services in the areas of ART, PMTCT, HIV/TB, and other services in line with the national guidelines and international best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:
 Must possess a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
 Minimum of 1-year cognate experience in HIV clinical/program management.
 Possession of experience in TB, MNCH, RH, and malaria programs would be an advantage.

3 Program Officer
(OVC) – Community
Services

The successful candidate will work with the State Team Lead to provide technical and programmatic support to drive Orphans & Vulnerable Children (OVC) and other Community Services intervention in a close working relationship with stakeholders;

CSOs, supported health facilities, relevant government agencies, and the network of PLHIV, in the implementation of
community-based programs namely; HIV care and support and OVC programs with gender mainstreaming.

Qualifications and Experience
 Must possess a first degree in Sciences or Social Sciences. A Master’s degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage.
 Must possess a minimum of 8 years cognate experience in an NGO or donor-funded environment with expertise in the design, implementation, and monitoring of HIV Care & Support and OVC programs

4 Senior Program
Associate –Prevention & Community Services

The successful candidate will assist in providing technical and programmatic support as well as work closely with the Programs Officer to drive HIV prevention and Community-based programs (including OVC) in the Prevention & Community directorate in a close working relationship with stakeholders; CSOs, supported health facilities, relevant government agencies, and network of PLHIV.

Qualifications and Experience
 Must possess a first degree in Sciences or Social Sciences.
 Minimum of four (4) years cognate experience in an NGO or donor-funded environment with expertise in the design, implementation, and monitoring of HIV Prevention, Care & Support programs (including OVC).

5 Program Associate –
Prevention & Community Services

This position will assist in providing technical and programmatic support closely with the State Team Lead, to drive community-based programs (including OVC) in the Prevention & Community directorate in a close working relationship with stakeholders; CSOs, supported health facilities, relevant government agencies, and a network of PLHIVs, in the implementation of community-based programs (including OVC).

Qualifications and Experience
 Must possess a minimum of first degree in Sciences or Social Sciences.
 Must possess a minimum of 3 years cognate experience in an NGO or donor-funded environment with expertise in the design, implementation, and monitoring of HIV Prevention, Care & Support programs (including OVC)

6 Technical Associate,
Laboratory Services.

The successful person will provide support in the delivery of quality laboratory services that supports the implementation of the Comprehensive HIV Care and Treatment program in supported facilities at the focus States. S/He will work with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the delivery of quality services in line with national guidelines and protocols and international best practices.

Qualifications and Experience
 Must possess a degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or its equivalent
 Possession of relevant experience in managing laboratory programs in support of comprehensive HIV Care and Treatment will be an advantage.

7 Assistant Technical
Officer – Laboratory
Services

The successful person will provide support in the delivery of quality laboratory services that supports the implementation of the Comprehensive HIV Care and Treatment program in supported facilities at the focus States.

S/He will work with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the delivery of quality services in line with national guidelines and protocols and international best practices.

Qualifications and Experience
 Must possess a degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or its equivalent
 Minimum of three to five (3-5) years experience in oversight of clinical laboratory services to support comprehensive HIV Care and Treatment programs at the granular level.

8 Technical Associate –
Pharmacy & Supply Chain)

The successful candidate will support all clinical pharmacy and supply chain management activities of the program in the designated location.

S/He will be responsible for the delivery of quality antiretroviral therapy (ART) services, by ensuring an efficient supply of medicines and delivering client-oriented services to promote appropriate use.

Qualifications and Experience
 Must possess a university degree in degree (Bachelor of Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Services/Doctor of Pharmacy) from a recognized institution.
 Possession of a Master’s Degree in Public Health or a related field would be added advantage.
 Minimum of 3 years experience working in public health programs, with a focus on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment.

9 Technical Officer,
Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)
The candidate will contribute to program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) support for the implementation of robust monitoring and evaluation systems in the State. S/He will provide support/guidance to state teams on program/project monitoring and evaluation and on US Government and Government of Nigeria reporting requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:
 Must possess a degree in Medical Sciences (MBBS/B. Pharm.), Behavioural/Social Sciences, Public Health, Demography, Biostatistics, Statistics, or a relevant field. A Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) will be an advantage.
 Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience in the field of HIV/AIDS care and relevant experience supporting the implementation of M&E systems, planning, and executing program evaluation.

10 Technical Officer,
Health Informatics (HI)

The successful candidate will take the lead in setting up and maintenance of electronic medical records systems and other digital solutions at new and existing sites within the state.

S/He will support daily quality data collection, entry, and management using a new/existing database
management systems and ensure weekly reporting of accurate and complete HIV program services
data in the NDR.

Qualifications and Experience:
 Must possess a first degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
 Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in information technology, including data collection, entry and analysis, database designing, and management.
 Must have advanced knowledge of SQL, Python, MYSQL, or other compatible database software like OPENSOURCE applications.

11 Assistant Technical
Officer – Health Informatics (HI)

The successful candidate will support the maintenance of existing database platforms and develop new ones to meet new donor data reporting requirements.

S/He will support the design of new database utilities on the platform in response to program needs.

Qualifications and Experience:
 Must possess a first degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
 Must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience in information technology, including data collection, entry, analysis, database designing, and management.
 Must have advanced knowledge of Open MRS, DHIS, MS-Access, or other compatible database software.

12 Technical Associate –
Health Informatics (HI)

The successful candidate will provide hands-on support to the management of the program’s database at the facility and LGA level in conjunction with the Technical Officer – Database Management.

Qualifications and Experience:
 Must possess a first degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
 Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in information technology, including data collection, entry, and analysis.
 Must possess knowledge of the nature of HIV/AIDS data as well as data management policies and procedures.

13 Technical Associate –
Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)

The desired candidates will work with the state’s M&E team to support the implementation of robust monitoring and evaluation systems in the state. S/He will be responsible for collating the program data at the LGA level and ensuring quality data reports for the program in the state.

Qualifications and Experience:
 Must possess a first degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Behavioural/Social Sciences, Public health, Demography, Biostatistics, Statistics, or a relevant field.
 Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the field of HIV prevention.
 Must have intermediate knowledge of SPSS or STATA or knowledge of DHIS, MS-Accessor other compatible database software will be of added advantage.

14 Senior Technical
Officer, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)

The desired candidate will be a member of the Strategic Information team and will oversee the program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) support for the implementation of robust monitoring and evaluation systems in all sites across all States and regions.

Qualifications and Experience:
 Must possess a degree in Medical Sciences (MBBS/B.Pharm.), Behavioural/Social Sciences, Public Health, Demography, Biostatistics, Statistics, or a relevant field. A Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) will be an advantage.
 Must have a minimum of nine (9) years experience in the field of HIV/AIDS care and relevant experience supporting the implementation of M&E systems, planning, and executing program evaluation.

15 Technical Officer,
Health Informatics (HI)

16 Manager, Communications & Media Relations

This position will be responsible for the leadership of all demand creation and communication activities across programs. S/He will be the liaison and focal person for the organization and responsible for interacting with government counterparts for media relations and dissemination of the organization’s achievements in a media-friendly format.

This person oversees all planning for news conferences, including selecting the site for an event, arranging for banners and other graphics to be displayed at the event, preparing packets of information to distribute to the media, and preparing executives to speak at news conferences.

Qualifications and Experience:
 Must possess a first degree in Mass Communication/English/Linguistics/Public Relations or related discipline.
 Must have a minimum of eight (8) years cognate experience in Communications and Media or Public.
 Supervise the administration of the organization’s social media platforms-Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter, website, etc.

17 Information Technology Associate

The candidate provides day-to-day operational management of the IT infrastructure; provides a wide range of IT support services to users at the central and site offices by supervising the helpdesk and ensuring the continued functionality of all IT systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
 A first degree or HND in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or any other related field; relevant professional certification(s) – Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or CompTIA certification is required.
 A minimum of 2 years experience in the IT function of a standard organization, preferably in an international NGO.

18 Senior Associate,
Grant Management

The successful candidate will support the Grants Administration/Compliance department in writing, developing, monitoring, and implementing grant proposals. S/He will support the Grants Manager to facilitate grant efforts, including the grant approval process and post-award compliance. Ensures timelines are met in all grant activities.

Qualifications and Experience:
Must possess a first degree in Law (LLB; BL) from a recognized institution.
Must possess a minimum of 4 years experience in Grants Management.
